Hoegaarden (Belgian White Beer)
Known as “Bieres Blanches” in French, the Belgian white wheat
beers are brewed using about 50% wheat and a combination of spices, typically, orange peel and coriander.
Hoegaarden,is a refreshing cloudy lemon coloured beer.
The sweet/sour and spicy taste and subtle hop bitterness and
aroma makes it distinctively different.
1 can Black Rock Whispering Wheat
1Kg Dry Wheat Malt Extract
15g coriander seeds (crushed)
2 tablespoons of orange peel (remove pith and use zest only)
Safale K-97 yeast.
Bottle Conditioning 6 weeks (min)

METHOD:
In a brew pot bring 2 litres of water to the boil, add malt, coriander and orange peel, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes then turn heat off. Add the can of Whispering wheat and stir until dissolved. Rest for 15 minutes and then strain into your fermenter.
Top up to 21 litres with cold water and when temperature is correct
Add the yeast and ferment out in the usual way.

Hope you like this!
I love drinking beers but my own speciality is ... Brussels sprouts.
